Surrender into breath

Rātapu, 10 Huitanguru, 2019.  It's more than air we are breathing.  We may be conscious of this and aware of this basic and free answer to health and wellbeing.  Make a practice of it.  Breathe life force.  It is spirit that is being breathed, spirit coming into where we focus our awareness inside our body, to purity, integrate, cleanse and guide us.

As we release the stale air of old stories, what no longer serves us, we open to the sweetness of spirit to restore us.  The breath is reliable as it is processed through our heart centres and as we may go deeper with the breath, the mind lets go.  We may enter into peace and stillness.

We BE-COME more of ourselves.  Our communication comes more from the heart.  We find peace in what challenges us and we connect with spirit.  Breath is spirit.  That is why when we are most inspired, our breath flows most freely.

When we are anxious, fearful, depressed and angry, our breath is short, shallow and minimal.  Herein is the challenge.  It is to draw the breath into the emotions experienced and open up to spirit to integrate them and bring forward loving solutions, rather than reacting and keeping the existing oppression, suppression, depression, impression pressing in.

Breathwork has been a daily practice for me for about fourteen years now. It helped bring me into my body and being. It is a natural part of my meditation.  If my breath is not free flowing and full, then I know it's best to go and sort myself out before I mix and mingle too much with others.

Observing the breath and being observant of our lives with the breath is a healthy but very much overlooked ability.  It doesn't cost anything to breathe.  The only obstacle is when one lives in a very polluted area.  We may need to return to nature, be close to the ocean, by a forest to make the most of breathing good quality air.

Today is 10 Iq/Wind in the ancient Mayan sacred count.  It's a day to return to the breath, to speak from the inspiration that comes from moving spirit through our being, integrating our emotions and experiences and transforming them into what comes from the heart and that is love, joy, peace, happiness and freedom.  May it be so!
