Physical movement and the quietness of meditation come together today. Mindful types of movement like tai chi, yoga, qi gong support the rising of consciousness to be activated. Chicchan is of the East direction. We initiate and activate today with conscious movement and observation of ourselves in it.
Giving time to the physical can allow us to sink deeply into meditative states. We may balance the energy within us so that all energy centres are aligned. This opens up the free flow of energy within us which is very healing and also very revealing.
Our body, the incredible biofeedback system that is, is always communicating and feeding back to us. I have found that by having a regular yoga practice I can access blockages to that energy flow and breathe through them with a flow of movement.
I learn the balance of knowing my limits and gently expanding past them. Learning to be gentle was part of my physical process. The opening of the body happens with the releasing of emotional clusters of energy found in the body. All dis-ease has an emotional cause.
I was knocked off my yoga mat in early January, in severe pain and have only really just got to return to it more regularly now, as energy has allowed me to. Even when I could not bend down to touch my toes, I could still be very aware of body. I had to balance that with pain relief and gradually work through all the intensity that was held in my body.
It does not matter how flexible or agile we are, we all may move in ways that free up energy to be liberated and whole us. Most of my yoga for several months was in Shivasana, ironically called corpse pose by some. It felt a bit like bringing life out of that, so we all can work with what we have. Comparing ourselves with others doesn't help.
Even if we have an accident or assault of some kind, it is an opportunity to work with our bodies and heal whatever is there, for as long as it takes. We become instinctive like Serpent and all our action will be directed towards increasing our vital life force again.
As we balance the energy systems within our body, we will find the balance in our lives and the instincts to maintain it. 3 Chicchan/Serpent is my feminine aspect of my tree of life sign. For me this means it is my way of life in my personal being time.
When I really set to work on healing my past in a highly committed way about 15 years ago, I found it really helpful to come fully into my body with the breath and then to add movement with my breath. In the trecena of Akbal, we may go into very deep states of consciousness as we practice some kind of serpent like physical movement with the breath.
For me it is yoga and for others it may be going to the gym, running, swimming or martial arts, etc. We each find the kind of movement that opens up the energy channels and expands them. There are mysterious secrets within that are ready to show themselves to us and it is held inside the physical form.
May we access these liberating and mysterious secrets as we come into breath, presence and physical connection with ourselves. When all the channels are opened, the potential to shift energy and discover our potential and possibilities may be revealed. It is revealed most gently to us as we honour and allow what is, to come into our conscious awareness.
It takes fearlessness and determination sometimes to stick with a physical rhythmic practice. If we don't know ourselves well enough, we can quit when strong emotion arises with certain movement. The art of surrendering into what is, without judging or avoiding it is highly liberating and it takes as long as it takes for breakthroughs to happen.
Let's trust the physical guidance we are given to help us ground, centre and be fully present and aware of the messages from our body, whether subtle or extreme. Our bodies do not lie. The feedback is based upon what is. May we all be liberated into the true abundance Pachamama desires to share with us as we surrender and trust the body and the incredible gift that it is to us - and so it is
